MORE ABOUT OUR CENTER
In America's health care system today, we hear and read about how it is in "crisis". The United States is ranked 46th worldwide in health care; it used to be in the top 5. In the last 25 years, we have seen the decline in care and the increase in cost. However, there is another area that is declining: what about the cause of the health problems? Doctors are no longer spending enough time with patients to ask questions and check out what caused their problem. America's health care system is basically now a one disease: one pill system. "You have headaches? Here's a pill. You are tired? Here's a pill. You ache? Here's a pill. Yes, we will run some tests on you, but take these pills in the meantime."
Our Medical Center is different: we first look for the cause of your problem(s). Most of our patients have already been to many other doctors of different specialties. Blood tests, various X-Rays or MRI's, all kinds of tests have usually been done when they come to see us. Our patients have usually tried several methods of treatments. Some have even been told: "All your tests are normal, so it's all in your head." Many are told they have chronic fatigue syndrome or fibromyalgia or hypoglycemia.
During your consultation, Dr. Campbell will review your medical records and past medical history with you. The forms that you will fill out at our center are more complex than some you may find elsewhere. We need to know as much about your health as possible. For example, did you grow up in a city? Was there a plant or factory nearby? What level of pollution was there? Did you grow up in the country? Did planes spray over the crops nearby? Was there pesticide use? Where do you live now? Do you use well water or municipal water? Where do you work? What do you do at work? How far is the copier from you? What is your diet like? How much processed foods do you consume? What medications have you taken? What are you currently taking? And many, many more questions you probably have not been asked. At each visit we print out a drug interaction, showing if any medications you are on can be adversely interacting with other medications.
We do not have 10 or 15 minute visits. A new patient may spend several hours with our doctor. Returning patients frequently spend over an hour with our doctor when required.
